This chapter covers new capabilities in ForgeRock IoT 7.0.
New Features
This is the first release of the ForgeRock IoT software. ForgeRock IoT evolved from ForgeRock’s Identity Edge Controller (6.5), which is no longer compatible with ForgeRock Identity Platform 7.
The following features are new in ForgeRock IoT:
- IoT SDK
Registration and authentication through AM authentication trees
Supports custom authentication nodes
Connects directly to the ForgeRock Identity Platform
- IoT Gateway (formerly known as IEC Service)
Offline token validation
Supports CoAP with DTLS
Connects directly to the ForgeRock Identity Platform
Security Advisories
ForgeRock issues security advisories in collaboration with our customers and the open source community to address any security vulnerabilities transparently and rapidly. ForgeRock's security advisory policy governs the process on how security issues are submitted, received, and evaluated as well as the timeline for the issuance of security advisories and patches.
