Stopping and Starting

The following commands are for Linux distributions.

Stopping Docker

  • Stop docker. This will shutdown all of the containers.

    $ sudo systemctl stop docker

Re-Starting Docker

  1. To restart docker, first set the docker to start on boot using the enable command.

    $ sudo systemctl enable docker
  2. To start docker, run the start command.

    $ sudo systemctl start docker

Shutting Down Cassandra

  1. Stop Cassandra.

    $ sudo service cassandra stop
    $ /opt/autoid/apache-cassandra-3.11.2/bin/stop-server

Re-Starting Cassandra

  1. To restart Cassandra, first set the docker to start on boot using the enable command.

    $ sudo systemctl enable cassandra
  2. To start Cassandra, run the start command.

    $ sudo systemctl start cassandra
  3. Check the status of Cassandra.

    $ /opt/autoid/apache-cassandra-3.11.2/bin/nodetool status

Shutting Down Spark

  1. Stop the Spark Master.

    $ /opt/autoid/spark/spark-2.4.4-bin-hadoop2.7/sbin/stop-master.sh
  2. Stop the Spark Workers.

    $ /opt/autoid/spark/spark-2.4.4-bin-hadoop2.7/sbin/stop-workers.sh
