Directory String

Values of this syntax hold strings of one or more arbitrary characters from the Universal Character Set (UCS). A zero-length character string is not permitted for this syntax. LDAP encodes these values in UTF-8, as specified in RFC 3629 . Client applications must accept arbitrary UCS code points, including code points outside the printable range, and code points not presently assigned to any character.
