Stop and Remove the Server

Follow these steps to stop and remove IDM.

To stop IDM, return to the console window where you saw the following message:
```
-> OpenIDM ready
```
Press Return, and type the following command:
```
-> shutdown
```
IDM is self-contained. After you shut down the server, you can choose to delete the files in the /path/to/openidm directory. There are no artifacts in system registries or elsewhere.
